  • What would I be doing?

    The Lead Count Team Member is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the Count Rooms to ensure the integrity of the currency counting derived from the games, as well as ensuring compliance with Gaming Commission regulations. Will act in the Count Room Supervisor capacity in the absence of the Supervisor.

    Motivates and leads the count team staff to ensure employees have adequate resources and guidance to achieve established objectives.


    Understands and maintains the department budget and policies and procedures to ensure proper administration of department.


    Facilitates training and developmental procedures to ensure extraordinary guest service standards are achieved.


    Maintains protection of extremely large amounts of currency, ensuring prevention of loss by providing extreme care and attention to detail.


    Ensures that procedures and proper controls are affected to protect counted funds.


    Maintains awareness of changes and/or problems that may affect the security of the currency in the Count Room and reports observances to the Count Room Supervisor.


    Counts and reconciles total funds to ensure the integrity of the count.


    Responsible for conducting a mechanically assisted count of the contents of the bill validator boxes.


    Conducts all facets of the count from the opening of the boxes, counting of the drop, verification of documentation and bundling of currency to the final reconciliation of totals, as well as any other related tasks.

    What are we looking for?

    • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management
    • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates
    • Ability to identify and quickly count different denominations of currency
    • This position is physical in nature and requires the incumbent to effectively and efficiently move around work areas, bend, squat, reach, twist, carry and move up to 50 pounds retrieving and emptying count boxes
    • Ability to push/pull the drop cart, with assistance, which can weigh up to 2000 pounds
    • Ability to remain standing for majority of shift and move around the Count Room in an efficient manner
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas
    • This position spends majority of shift on the gaming floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume
    • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed
    • Knowledge of AS/400 computer system and 10-key calculator
    • Knowledge of cashiering or banking operations
    • Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, coworkers, and management
    • Ability to count and separate varying denominations of currency
    • Ability to motivate and direct the performance of subordinates
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Louisiana gaming license.
    • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older


    This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of two years’ cashiering or banking experience, or related experience.  Supervisory experience preferred.

    Gaming licenses are a privilege, not a right, and are issued at the sole discretion of gaming regulators based on their review of a licensee’s gaming application and background information.  The following information is required as part of the gaming license application.

    • Name, name changes and any aliases/nicknames
    • Citizenship
    • Current and prior addresses for the past ten years
    • Employment background for past ten years
    • Military service; Must provide a copy of DD214
    • Occupational licenses held, offices or businesses owned in any other states
    • Disciplinary actions, denial or revocation of any occupational or business licenses
    • Marital status, including spouse’s information (including previous marriages)
    • Gaming interests - ownership in any gaming business (past or present)
    • Financial information – financial liens, judgments, bankruptcies, liquidations, repossessions, collections, garnishments and child support (current, owed or under garnishment)
    • Birthmarks, tattoos or distinguishing marks
    • Criminal background information – including all arrests, convictions, lawsuits, indictments, testimonies, pardons or disbarments.


    Gaming regulators will only issue a gaming license based on the following:

    • No pending or active criminal charges
    • No felony convictions within the last 10 years; No misdemeanor convictions in the past 5 years
    • No convictions related to theft, fraud, illegal gambling or violence (includes misdemeanors)
    • Felony convictions beyond 10 years are reviewed on a case by case basis (some states) taking into account the gravity of offense, timing of conviction and job position and role with the company
    • No active or ongoing unpaid collections, bankruptcies, repossessions, garnishments, child support, etc.
    • Student loans must not be in default status


    • $200 for the gaming license. Renews every two years.
    • $15 - $50 for three pages to be notarized
    • $10 for fingerprints at Louisiana State Police
    • $0.35 - $12 for a color photo of yourself (passport size)
