  • What would I be doing?

    Assist Catering Sales Manager in achieving Food and Beverage sales plans and goals within the department as well as striving to provide consistent customer satisfaction. Communicate guest event arrangements and requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all necessary departments.

    Responsibilities

    Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way by ensuring every interaction includes our PEAK Service Standards and work harmoniously with fellow team members.

    • Adhere to guest service requirement listed above.
    • Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards. Maintains a positive attitude at all times, supporting the policies of Ameristar Casino Hotel.
    • Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
    • Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential and financial information disclosed by an Ameristar entity or guest
    • This is a non-uniformed position, which requires that team member is in compliance with non-uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
    • Field and return sales calls; send out sales information based on group inquiries
    • Make outside sales calls and assist with the follow up of letters and phone calls.
    • Prepare sales proposals, contracts, close sales, and arrange payment terms.
    • Detail catering group arrangements and prepare BEOs.
    • Assist with preparation of sales tools.
    • Conduct property tours for prospective customers.
    • Assist with follow-up on all groups and catering sales including correspondence, phone calls, and faxes
    • Assist with maintaining Sales Report, Client List, GRC Analysis, Outside Sales Report and Site Inspection Report.
    • Participate in outside functions – Trade Shows, Bridal Fairs, Events, etc.
    • Be proficient in the Catering Sales software system
    • Represent Ameristar with professionalism at Public Relations functions – CVB, Chamber of Commerce, Community Organization, etc.
    • Assist with billing problem research.
    • Book Group Reservations including checking availability, quoting rates, enter Group Master and rooming lists, preparing contract supporting documents

    • Manage the group blocks including direct contact with the customers to keep them up to date.

    • Attend all required meetings.

    • Any additional duties deemed appropriate and requested by Banquet Manager or Catering Sales Manager

    • Excellent Phone Skills

    • Must have sound judgment to creatively propose solutions to customers’ needs

    • Must have excellent organizational skills

    • General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

    • Proficiency in the Catering Sales software system

    • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team

    • Must have excellent business communication skills and strong time management skills

    • Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects or assignments Ability to interpret and explain company policies and procedures to customers

    • Ability to accept direction and coaching from supervisory team, and adjust behaviors accordingly

    • Ability to follow all policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance, appearance, safety, and security policies

    • Ability to obtain support for ideas and actions from peers or superiors in order to accomplish a task or goal

    • Ability to identify circumstances or incidents that require the notification and/or approval of others

    • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays

       

      Perform related duties as assigned by the Catering Sales Manager.

    What are we looking for?

    • Minimum of High School Graduate or certificate from Educational Institute
    • College Graduate preferred or equivalent years of experience with additional 1 year hotel and/or catering sales experience
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Ability to prioritize easily and effectively

    • Ability to easily establish consultative relationships with customers

    • Ability to accept direction and coaching from supervisory team, and adjust behaviors accordingly

    • Sound judgment to creatively propose solutions to customers’ needs

    • Strong communication skills and time management skills

    • Ability to identify circumstances or incidents that require the notification and/or approval of others

    • Ability to get customers to accept proposals and book their business at Ameristar Casinos
