  • What would I be doing?


    The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force.  The incumbent is also responsible for supervising the daily activities of the Security Department on assigned shift; responsible for maintaining order and security of patrons and employees, funds, the facility and properties; day shift supervisor reports key activities, issues and incidents from swing and grave supervisors to the Security Manager.






    • Assists Security  Manager in hiring and training, and is responsible for motivating, evaluating and supervising staff to ensure employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
    • Reviews and oversees all security reports generated; swing and grave supervisors prepare summary reports of daily activities and incidents for day shift supervisor; day shift supervisor presents overview of important issues, and progress and status reports representing all department operations to manager.
    • Assists in establishing, implementing, and monitoring department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to achieve proper supervision of department.
    • Ensures adherence to proper arrest and detainment procedures of employees or guests violating civil or company laws or procedures; assists various local, state and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are followed.
    • Conducts training classes on various topics such as CPR, Fire Fighting & Response, First-Aid and general security procedures to ensure the security and protection of assets, patrons/guests and employees.
    • Maintains all current information on various cheats, thieves, vagrants, etc. to ensure the protection of company assets, patrons and employees.
    • Resolves customer complaints and ensures that proper customer service standards are adhered to.
    • Provides assistance to managers and supervisors of other departments in cases of troublesome terminations, thefts, investigations and procedures as requested. 
    • Handles drug testing procedures other than pre-employment, assuring that Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. maintains its procedures and liability issues.
    • Develops and maintains communications with security personnel of other casinos and law enforcement agencies concerning security issues.
    • Ensures that all proper procedures for Games Department, i.e., fills, credits, transfers, pit boxes, drops, etc., are maintained and correctly implemented.

    What are we looking for?

    Basic knowledge of state, civil and criminal laws.

    Knowledge and understanding of electronic, video and alarm functions.

    Knowledge and understanding of state laws concerning powers of arrest.

    Valid state driver’s license required.


    These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalent, and two years’ progressive experience in security operations.  Supervisory experience preferred.



    • This position spends majority of shift on the casino floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, in both verbal and written form, with customers, other security supervisors and the manager, as well as all levels of employees.
    • Ability to read, comprehend and write legible reports.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas.
    • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.
    • Ability to identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations.
    • Ability to lift, push and pull drop boxes and money carts, and be able to assist sick or injured customers and employees.
    • At times this position is exposed to varying weather conditions; proper clothing is provided.

    Boomtown Bossier City, located approximately three hours east of the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, opened in 1996. The property features a 30,000-square-foot casino with more than 1,000 slot machines and 28 table games including high limit slots and tables. Offering approximately 1,800 parking spaces, the resort also features a 187-guestroom hotel with pool, three signature restaurant options and approximately 1,500-square-feet of meeting and conference space.
