  • What would I be doing?

    Under general supervision, obtains guests’ beverage and food orders; ensures accurate and timely service of all orders; maintains cleanliness of the casino bars and ensures adequate stock levels of supplies pertinent to completing duties and orders properly; duties will include, but not limited to all responsibilities below and other duties assigned by management.

    • Deliver internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way.  Always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor.  Be polite and courteous when speaking with guests and team members.  Look for and act upon opportunities to assist guests and team members.  Be sincere and genuine during all interactions.  Be prepared with the knowledge and skill required to be responsive to guests and team members’ needs and questions.
    • Answer guest questions about Ameristar East Chicago restaurants including operating hours and answer general questions about property facility and services.
    • Knowledgably converse with guests regarding unique Stadium sports memorabilia.
    • From memory, prepare craft cocktails, other cocktails and other beverages using company recipes and responding to guest’s special requests.  Measure all drinks using a Jigger, in accordance with company policy.
    • Familiar with Stadium food menu, including description, price, add-ons and able to assist guests alcohol pairing.
    • Assist guests with beverage and food selection, demonstrating salesmanship with complete product knowledge and ability to upsell menu items. Inform guests of restaurant specials, featured items and personal favorites.
    • Obtain food and beverage orders from guests directly or from server staff.  
    • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.  Ensure guests ordering and consuming alcoholic beverages are at least 21 years of age. Abide by all State, State Gaming, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations, including those pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
    • Recognize guests immediately with a friendly, courteous greeting and inform them of any specialty cocktails, restaurant specials, featured items, personal favorites, promotions, events, and other information.
    • Efficiently serve wine, spirits, bottled or draft beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with proper garnishes and glassware. Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
    • Accurately account for and collect payment for all food and beverage orders through POS system in a timely manner.
    • Consistently maintain bar area in a clean, safe and sanitary manner including, keeping bar stocked, collecting used glassware (in compliance with all Indiana Gaming Commission regulations and Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission regulations), cleaning equipment, removing trash and dirty ashtrays.  Arrange liquor bottles, beer, fruit trays, and glassware to assure that the bar environment is perceived as clean, organized, and attractive. 
    • Deliver beverage and food orders to guests throughout assigned section in a timely manner.
    • Discretely clear individual settings from guest’s bar top as each course is completed. 
    • Limit problems related to guests’ alcohol consumption by providing responsible alcohol service, as taught in the responsible alcohol certification course.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, hours of operations, proper table set-up.
    • Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
    • Must maintain proper uniform requirements of the position including wearing special event uniforms provided for Holidays and other special occasions deemed by management.
    • Maintain a well-groomed, neat, clean appearance, in accordance with established appearance policy.
    • Assist as requested with special events on and off property.
    • Observe and adhere to Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, and cleanliness of work environment.
    • Attend all company/restaurant training programs as they are scheduled.
    • Complete opening, closing and other side duties as assigned by the supervisors.
    • Collect and accurately report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
    • Resiliently deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and work harmoniously with coworkers.
    • Perform all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.  

    What are we looking for?

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external guests effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume restaurant.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain responsible alcohol service certification.
    • Must be able to obtain a valid Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission Liquor Permit prior to the commencement of employment.
    • Familiarity and product knowledge of beverages, including beer, wine, and spirits, and garnishes.
    • Must be able to pass written and practical pre-hire bartending exam with a minimum score of 80%.
    • Must be able to pass all Stadium Bartender training tests.
    • Must be able to learn, retain and apply on the job, all knowledge taught in Stadium Bartender training, including but not limited to Stadium sports memorabilia, beer menus, cocktail & food menus and all service standards.
    • One year of high volume bartending experience preferred.
