As a Doorperson you are responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The Doorperson ensures efficient hotel service operations by loading and unloading luggage for all arriving and departing guests.

  1. Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  2. Welcomes and greets guests in a professional and friendly manner; unloads luggage of arriving guests from vehicle to luggage cart.
  3. Accurately handles and provides directions regarding the property amenities and local vicinity to guest as needed.
  4. Ensures appropriate claim check procedures are followed.
  5. Transfers luggage from hotel curb to inside baggage hold.
  6. Verifies luggage claim tickets match guests’ tickets.
  7. Retrieves guest luggage from holding area and loads into waiting car when presented with guest claim ticket.
  8. Maintains baggage hold area in a clean, orderly manner.
  • This position is subject to varying levels of crowds, smoke and noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • This position is required to work outside and is subject to all types of weather conditions.  Proper clothing is provided.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, as well as all levels of employees.
  • This position is very physical in nature and requires incumbent to run across flat land, as well as up and down stairs so as to park and retrieve cars in as little amount of time as possible.  Incumbent must be able to reach so as to retrieve keys for customers' vehicles.
  • Ability to load and unload luggage weighing up to 100 pounds into cars.

The skills and abilities necessary for this position are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or related experience.
