The Slot Technician is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The Slot Technician is also responsible for performing a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs of slot machines, with infrequent assistance; possesses extensive knowledge of both mechanical and electronic aspects of slot machine repair; provides training or assistance to lesser experienced technicians.

  1. Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with external and internal customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  2. Diagnoses and repairs mechanical and electronic slot machine malfunctions with minimal guidance or assistance.
  3. Replaces parts and circuit boards which have caused malfunctions; may repair some circuit boards, with assistance.
  4. May utilize shop machines to fabricate standard or routine parts.
  5. May occasionally act as a specialist in either mechanical or electronic areas.
  6. May be given occasional assignments to provide training to lesser experienced technicians or trainees.
  7. Maintains moderate skill levels in mechanical and electronic functions, with possible advanced skills in either.
  8. Performs general and preventive maintenance slot machine inspection, machine moving and installation.
  • This position spends time on the casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • This position is at times subjected to hazards such as electrical shocks.


  • Ability to communicate effectively at all times with customer, as well as all levels of employees.
  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates/trainees.
  • Ability to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
  • Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Must be able to carry, bend, climb, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 125 pounds so as to be able to reach all areas of machines in need of repair and move machines around work area as needed.
  • General understanding of electronics at the circuit board level.
  • General understanding of microprocessors.
  • Ability to use all machine test equipment.


These skills are typically acquired through the completion of an AA degree in Electronics and one-year slot repair experience, or through a minimum of two years’ progressive slot repair experience.
