Boomtown New Orleans, located on the West Bank of the Mississippi in New Orleans and approximately 15 minutes from the French Quarter, opened in 1994 and features a 30,000-square-foot casino with more than 1,200 slot machines and 31 table games. In 2015, Boomtown opened a new five-story hotel with 150 guest rooms, spacious meeting space and state-of-the-art fitness center just steps away from the casino action. Boomtown New Orleans also features four casual and fine dining venues, a nightclub entertainment venue and more than 14,000 square feet of meeting and conference space.

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The incumbent is also responsible for greeting guests, arranging for prompt seating, and for performing all sales transactions.  The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that guests feel welcome and comfortable in accordance with Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. customer service standards.

Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to other employees while providing superior customer service.  Has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.


Greets guests in a friendly, courteous manner and arranges for seating; monitors room atmosphere.


Provides information on all aspects of Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.’s services and facilities to guests.


Quotes accurate waiting times and handles guest waiting lists or reservations in accordance with established procedures.


Responsible for the pickup, countdown and return of cash bank from miscellaneous count.


Opens register, prepares and completes all paperwork for assigned outlet in an organized manner.


In front-of-house areas, greets guests in a friendly, courteous manner and answers inquiries before completing sales transactions, ensuring customer satisfaction.


Maintains accurate cash balance and handles money in a secure manner according to established standards.


Handles forms and equipment necessary to complete settlement of credit cards, coupons and room charges.


Answers telephones and handles guest inquiries in person or by telephone.


Checks all supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.


Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all coverage and shortages.

Assists with overall room functions by performing duties that include cleaning and resetting tables, menus, folding napkins and handing out customer comment cards as required.




Ability to use a cash register.

Ability to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make correct change.

Ability to read ticket totals, total credit vouchers and log checks.

Ability to restock needed materials and retrieve dropped items.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.

Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas.

This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends on customer volume.

Basic mathematical skills.

Excellent customer service skills.


These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or through related cashier or host experience.
