Overview

This position promotes revenue generation and an increase in efficiency, productivity, and guest satisfaction in the Casino Operations Department through proper scheduling tactics, floor and table games analysis and forecasting.  This position identifies areas of strength, opportunities and concerns and develops programs, implements change and works with other team leaders to harbor the full potential of the department and its team members. 

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for the overall production of the Operations Department, including proper staffing needs, guest satisfaction, fluid and timely transactions on the slot floor, table games productivity and data analysis. 
  • Oversees the scheduling process for the entire Operations Department in a timely manner to ensure a smooth and successful operation of the department while efficiently capitalizing on labor hours and cutting costs where opportunity presents itself. 
  • Along with the Scheduler, addresses any scheduling or labor concerns and develops strategies and solutions. 
  • Collects, develops and analyzes data, historical trends and volumes to ensure all staffing levels are properly met. 
  • Conducts financial overviews of table games and slot floor performance. 
  • Identifies areas of opportunity or concerns and works with team leaders to address and enhance operations. 
  • Analyzes slot floor performance and develops strategies to increase efficiency, floor performance, team member engagement/satisfaction and guest satisfaction. 
  • Analyzes individual and team performance on the slot floor and develops methods, procedures and approaches to increase performance.
  • Utilizes a variety of tools, reports, techniques and studies to constantly develop stronger metrics of evaluation for the slot floor and table games department. 
  • Works with slot dispatch to develop and coordinate an efficient and productive slot floor. 
  • Analyzes Table Games performance, revenue generation and overall operation to develop
  • Maintains open lines of communication with all team members and team leaders to develop best practice techniques and a stronger operation.
  • Analyzes individual dealer performance and works with team leaders to promote personal and table games departmental success.
  • Analyzes Floor Supervisors’ operational performance and works with department operators to increase the productivity and success within the individual and the department. 
  • Evaluates Table Games layouts and footprints.
  • Analyzes table games prices.
  • Evaluates guest satisfaction scores and seeks to constantly improve scores by implementing better practices. 
  • Handles and coordinates a variety of departmental projects, activities and back office issues to help other casino team leaders focus on the successful operation of their position and the floor.
  • Analyzes and evaluates activities of the competition and gaming industry to promote the best gaming product. 
  • Dissimilates casino information and promotes successful transitions when change is made. 
  • Acts as a leader of the department and the property and upholds the values and culture of Ameristar Inc. 
  • Conducts ROI and payback analysis.
  • Builds effective relationships with team leaders and team members at all levels.     
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Mississippi Key Gaming License at all times.
  • Prior gaming experience is not required.
  • Knowledge of slot operations is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of table games operations including dealing procedures is beneficial.
  • Must have an expert skill level with Microsoft Office.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior managerial experience preferred.
  • Bachelors degree or relevant work experience is required. 
  • Strong mathematical skills are required. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required. 
  • Strong presentation skills are required. 
  • Must be mobile through all areas of the casino for the duration of the shift and handle a wide variety of illumination, noise, crowds and temperatures.
  • Must be able to work any shift at any time including weekends and holidays.  
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with team member relations issues. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organizations.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two (2) to three (3) years experience in the casino industry or equivalent leadership experience.
