As a Starter Golf you are responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The Starter will report to the Golf Supervisor and will be responsible for reserving tee times and ensuring that players are started in a timely manner.


The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.


  1. Deliver internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards (Look Sharp, smile & greet the guest. Be friendly, polite & use courteous language. Provide especially timely & knowledgeable service; and then some! Always find solutions to guests’ problems. Use the guest’s name when appropriate. Thank the guest and invite him or her back.).
  2. Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  3. Responsible for taking and recording requests and cancellations for start times to play golf in accordance with proper procedures.
  4. Responsible for reserving golf carts as requested.
  5. Provides players with description of the course and other available facilities at sign-in.
  6. Directs players to golf cart and first green and ensures that golf players tee off at the designated start times to ensure that the flow of golf traffic proceeds smoothly throughout the day. 
  7. Maintains and updates player records in to establish a list of players for Special Event   invitations.
  8. Maintains and reports golf scores as requested for handicapping purposes.
  9. Provides superior customer service to players; handles player special requests ; answers questions/and answers questions.  
  • Employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Must have knowledge of the game of golf.                                
  • Must have excellent customer relations skills and be committed to providing a high level of customer service to each and every guest.
  • May be exposed to cold weather.  Proper clothing protection is provided.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
