The Security Officer is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The Security Officer is also responsible for maintaining security protection, which includes money transactions, public relations, performing command center functions, assisting guests/customers and employees, as needed, and maintaining order.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)

 

  1. Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  2. Assists sick or injured patrons and employees; performs CPR as necessary.
  3. Assists Games and Slots department in removing drop boxes.
  4. Attends all safety/first aid training classes; reports unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  5. Assists patrons and employees on directions and proper procedures.
  6. Checks identification of all persons that appear to be under 21 years of age.
  7. Performs fills, credits, exchanges and marker transfers procedures for departments as needed.
  8. Composes accident/incident reports and witness statements when necessary.
  9. Operates company vehicles in a safe manner.
  10. Performs all functions of Fire Safety Officer, including monitoring of surveillance equipment, alarms, VCRs, multiplexers and intercom system according to established procedure.
  11. Performs dispatch activities and logs all dispatches accurately.
  • This position spends majority of shift on the casino floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise levels and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers, as well as all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to read and write legible reports.
  • Must be able to identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull drop boxes and money carts, and be able to assist sick or injured customers and employees.
  • Exposed to varying weather conditions; proper clothing provided.
  • Must be able to operate all video equipment, change tapes, monitor screens, etc.

Qualifications

  • Must have effective communication skills.
  • Must be bondable with no felony convictions.
  • Must have valid State driver’s license.
  • Must be able to write clear, accurate, and concise reports.
  • CPR Certificate and bloodborne pathogen training required.

 

The skills required of this position can typically be acquired through two months of on- the-job training, or through related experience.
