The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force. The incumbent is also responsible for supervising and coordinating activities concerned with receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing materials, supplies and assets delivered to and shipped from Belterra Park Gaming.
Assists Purchasing Manager in hiring and supervising warehouse and receiving staff and oversees the completion of all daily work assignments.
Maintains time and attendance records, scheduling and performance appraisals to ensure the completion of department work objectives and adherence to policies.
Coordinates the elimination of "dead" stock in order to assist in reducing inventory variances.
Evaluates warehouse/receiving operations and makes recommendations for changes, assisting the Purchasing Manager in the planning for efficient use of warehouse facilities.
Trains staff in the use of warehouse/receiving equipment and monitors safety standards, making any needed adjustments to assure compliance with regulations and safety practices.
Functions in any of the nonexempt warehouse and receiving positions as needed
Coordinates with all departments to ensure delivered goods, supplies, and assets are properly received, tracked and transferred to warehouse for storage or immediate delivery
Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
Computer literate and possess supervisory and interpretative skills.
Must be able to operate a warehouse handheld computer.
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school degree or equivalent, as well as a minimum of one-year experience in warehouse and receiving, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses within assigned state of employment
Must successfully pass background check
Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Electric and manual pallet jacks, fork lift, hand truck, cart, electric scale, bar code scanner, and computer terminal. Certifications may be required.
Handheld computers for the use of receiving, inventory cycle counts, and picking.
Knowledge of, and experience in, warehouse and receiving functions, preferably in a gaming environment.
Basic understanding of automated inventory/purchase systems required.
Ability to motivate, direct and communicate effectively with coworkers and subordinates
This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, wet conditions and noise. Proper ear protection is available upon request.
This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary information.
Must be able to move effectively and efficiently around work area.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, as well as outside vendors.
