Overview

The 8042 Manager is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and team members. Bar 8042 is the pulse of Black Hawk and enhances the mojo of the entire resort property.  The Manager is responsible for running the beverage and entertainment operation, including but not limited to, the cocktail, beverage and bottle service/entertainment programs. The 8042 Manager will also support casino beverage operations and will take full ownership in ensuring Bar 8042 and casino beverage operations maintain a profitable operation that creates magical, memorable moments for our guests while promoting and retaining a highly skilled workforce.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates and directs beverage/bar operations in order to ensure team members receive on the job coaching and resources to accomplish established objectives.

 

  1. Plans and executes enticing bar events to deliver high quality products and creates memorable moments for our guests. This includes building relationships with guests, listening to their feedback and resolving any concerns.

 

  1. Actively researches and investigates latest trends in the market and industry to continually update and freshen Bar 8042’s mojo to create the best experience for our guests.

 

  1. Designs and executes programming based on time of day, day of week, and variable demographics.

 

  1. Adheres to all Guest service standards for the property.

 

  1. Interacts with Guests and Team Members by maintaining a visible presence in Guest areas during peak business periods.

 

  1. Maintains the morale of the department through open communication and teamwork by deploying a variety of communication strategies that informs and builds support.

 

  1. Works with all departments to successfully execute Ameristar strategies to maximize efficiencies and improve the Guest and Team Member experience.

 

  1. Partners with the scheduling team to ensure appropriate staffing levels to deliver an excellent guest experience while meeting financial goals.

 

  1. Establishes department standards, guidelines and goals. Maintains other administrative processes, such as budget and staffing, to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of beverage and related functions. Responsible for ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels of all supplies.

 

  1. Conducts inspections of front-of-the-house areas to ensure compliance with procedures, security of company assets, and guest/team member safety.

 

  1. Strives for continued improvement of beverage outlets by constantly reviewing guest satisfaction, volume, revenue and cost of sales, and implementing necessary changes to allow the most successful operation of services and fulfillment of Ameristar Black Hawk’s objectives. In addition, partners with the marketing and promotions team to ensure competitiveness in the market. 

 

 

  1. Advises organization in beverage-related issues, such as the planning of special events, in order to provide the expertise needed for successful implementation of plans.

 

  1. Responsible for the leadership of the Team Members. This includes:

 

  • Staffs, trains, and coaches to ensure the team receives appropriate feedback to deliver excellent guest service.
  • Upholds appearance and conduct standards to ensure that they are meeting the outlined expectations.
  • Coordinates, plans and communicates with the marketing department to determine talent needs for special events, player development parties, promotions, and group sales.
  • Assists the talent team in recruitment on a consistent basis. 
  • Upholds cash handling, confidentiality, and safety standards. 
  1. Ensures accountability for all compliance issues, regulations, laws, and health requirements as related to food and beverage operations

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

 

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field and 5 years’ experience directly related to food or beverage, at least two years supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position preferred. Knowledge of gaming industry and strong public relations skills desired.  

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members as well as outside contacts.

Strong problem solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills.

Fully competent in Microsoft Office and Point of Sale systems.

Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and Colorado Support Gaming License.

Must successfully pass background check and alcohol and drug screening.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
