It is the primary responsibility of the Manager to lead, manage and perform tasks for the implementation of business solutions across Accounting Shared Services and Pinnacle Entertainment through the execution of established project management methodologies. Under the leadership of the Director, the Manager will plan, execute, monitor and finalize projects, in accordance with department standards.  This position requires a mixture of influential leadership skills, technical understanding, analytical work, project management and excellent interpersonal skills with team members from all levels of the business. The Manager will partner with accounting functional areas to initiate project plans, participate in and oversee the completion of multiple projects simultaneously and partner with vendors and various functional areas at all levels.  The Manager will work closely with the Director to communicate regularly and effectively.  They will also ensure tasks and timelines in projects are adhered to, in addition to monitoring scope and control risks.

  • Partner with project stakeholders and manage all aspects of a project including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing, with the support and direction of the Director.
  • Develop detailed and comprehensive project plans and documentation.
  • Actively perform tasks related to the project.
  • Issue regular communications regarding project status.
  • Estimate project resources and timing of projects and proactively work with functional areas to ensure resource availability and appropriate timing.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders, holding team members of all seniority accountable, where necessary.
  • Pro-actively identify and resolve issues and conflicts with project teams.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables – and adjust and communicate with stakeholders as necessary.
  • Develops and maintain effective communication and excellent relationships with internal customers and external business partners, including ensuring their requirements are identified and consistently met.
  • Oversee system implementations and/or process related developments to ensure that business and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Enhance internal customer service through the implementation of reporting and processing improvements as well as adopting a service oriented approach to all work.
  • Provide concise project related reporting to appropriate audiences.
  • Perform all other job related duties as requested.



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge and experience with financial systems and operating systems and tools is preferred (ERP, Infinium, AS400, Showcase, Hyperion, Timeline, LMS, Infogenesis, Micros, ACSC, Oasis and Visio).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferred.



  • At least 2 years of project management experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills. 
  • Must possess initiative and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Must have well developed written, verbal and public presentation communication skills.  Possess demonstrated ability to tailor communications for various audiences, maintaining a specific standard, per the Director.
  • Proven track record of flexibility in communication and work styles, to complement the specific needs of different audiences. 
  • Must be receptive to feedback, and strive for professional continuous improvement themselves.
  • Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess ability to management time effectively and prioritize conflicting duties while maintaining timeline integrity for projects and tasks.
  • Ability to effectively and confidently communicate, with team members of all levels, internal and external, to achieve all project objectives.
  • Ability to anticipate obstacles through critical thinking and review of data, and to pro-actively implement creative solutions.
  • Track record of being a strong team player that has a direct approach and is solution oriented.
  • Highly developed organizational skills.
  • Commitment to appropriately manage confidential departmental and corporate information.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including conditional formatting, advanced calculations/functions.
