Overview

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for writing and designing all team member communication and planning team member events for Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk. The Specialist collaborates with various team members on property to improve their working environment and to create a culture of open, two-way communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design print and email communication using Adobe Design products – Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Coordinate with a local printer to have high quality prints made for communication in the heart-of-house
  • Coordinate the execution of large wall features in the heart-of-house
  • Write engaging magazine articles to profile team members in the mypnk Magazine that is sent to 16,000+ team members four times a year
  • Write messages from leadership to team members with the ability to craft messages in different voices and tones
  • Write a weekly newsletter to share property information and highlight positive team member stories.
  • Assist with planning and executing team member events and programs including Team Member of the Year, the Team Member Talent Show, the Team Member Holiday Party, etc. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic/web design or a closely related field is required. 2-3 years of graphic design experience is required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
  • Must have intermediate graphic design experience using Adobe Suite Products (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • Must be able to present creative and business writing and graphic design portfolio upon interview
  • Position requires a wide degree of creativity and initiative
  • Must be able to communicate in a clear and effective manner
  • Must meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must have the ability to accept feedback with a positive attitude
  • Must be highly organized and available on weekends or nights, if necessary
  • Ability to work with multiple properties and their departments from long distance
  • Ability to collaborate with others on projects
