Overview

To provide cashiering services for patrons of the restaurant, deliver food orders to our guests in a friendly and timely manner.  Coordinate activities of dining room personnel engaged in providing courteous and prompt service to customers.  Clearing tables and setting tables in accordance with company standards. Maintain cleanliness and quality of food.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a positive attitude at all times, supporting the policies of Senior Management of the Casino as well as Senior Management of Ameristar Casino, Inc.
  • Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
  • This is a uniformed position, which requires that team member’s are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
  • Receive cash or credit card from customers in payment for goods or services.
  • Computes bill on P.O.S. System or adding machine, makes change, and issues receipt.
  • May be required to know value and descriptions of all menu items.
  • May give cash refunds or credit memorandums as directed by Supervisor/Manager.
  • Coordinates and controls the flow of the Restaurant.
  • Supervises the restaurant during the absence of the Restaurant Supervisor/Manager.
  • Interacts between Service Staff and Patrons when difficult situations arise.
  • Ensures that Service Quality and Standards are followed.
  • Answer any guest related questions in the Ameristar Standard.
  • Answer telephone in a professional manner.
  • Stocking and prepping areas for guest service needs on a continual basis.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in all areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Dining Room before, during, after service.
  • Maintain positive attitude toward guests and co-workers.
  • Be able to work with fellow Team Members and maintain a team first attitude.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent guest service skills
  • TIPS training
  • Must be very friendly and outgoing.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum eight (8) hour shift.
  • Locations on casino floor are noisy and smoky.
  • Will also encounter intoxicated guests frequently.
  • Provide representation of department in specific project and company meetings.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
