As a Lead Butler you are responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.The Lead Butler is also responsible for accommodating butler requests as directed, accommodating needs of guests as requested. The Lead Butler will serve as an hourly liaison for the department. Responsibilities include ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction among the butler staff, training new hires, resolve guest complaints, and any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide superior guest service, positively affect interactions with guest and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guest in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  2. Utilizes computers for the purpose of e-mail, inventory ordering and writing reports.
  3. Calls Manager on Duty to report any immediate concerns
  4. Communicates with other shifts to inform them of operational needs
  5. Assists all other team members as necessary in order to provide the best guest service
  6. Assists in the training of new Butlers.
  7. Maintains butler pantry and specific supplies.
  8. Reports departmental, company and contract policy violations by employees to management
  9. Informs management of any product shortages, equipment failures or staffing issues in a timely manner
  10. Greets guests with a smile, friendly manner and a polite salutation
  11. Prepares and serves food for guests using proper gueridon/tableside preparation service.
  12. Takes guest food orders, communicates to the kitchen and delivers the food to guests in a timely manner.
  13. Opens, decants and serves premium wines and spirits to guests.
  14. Takes guest order, suggestively selling non-comp beverages and repeats order back to the guest in order to ensure clarity
  15. Requests proper payment from guest where applicable
  16. Uses point of sale system to enter all orders
  17. Prepares and assists other team members in the preparation of food items, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages with proper garnishes
  18. Prepares and maintains room service carts, hot boxes and supplies for proper food delivery.
  19. Adheres to all check settlement and food & beverage control procedures
  20. Communicates with Management, Chefs, Kitchen Staff, Bartenders, Beverage Servers and Bar Backs in order to complete the order production cycle
  21. Maintains departmental standards of attentive service and comp and cash sales averages
  22. Adheres to all state and local laws referencing the service of food & beverage
  23. Entertains guests through polite, professional, friendly conversation
  24. Assists guests with valet services, including but not limited to pressing or steaming clothing, polishing shoes, shopping services and ordering and service of tobacco products.
  25. Polishes service ware in preparation for VIP functions.
  26. Completes daily side work and product requisition
  27. Provides guests with amenities including snacks and hot towels.
  28. Ensures a safe and sanitary work environment for self and others
  29. Promptly conveys to management all guest special requests, special product requests, guest issues or equipment needs
  30. Works directly with Casino Host staff to provide an exemplary level of personalized service to the guests.
  31. Performs other general equipment and supply cleaning, polishing and organization tasks as assigned
  32. Must be warm, friendly and outgoing
  33. Maintains clean, impeccably groomed appearance
  34. Maintains sanitary personal hygiene
  35. Answers guests questions and informs them about departmental & casino promotions, upcoming events and property features
  36. Utilizes problem solving skills, familiarity with the whole property’s food & beverage facilities as well as knowledge of the local surrounding area in order to accommodate all possible guest requests with a positive attitude.
  37. Assists guests with basic gaming related questions
  38. Empties and cleans ashtrays
  39. Completes all other job related duties as assigned
  40. Reports facilities issues to Engineering
  41. Calls Security for all guest or employee injuries or other Security concerns
  42. Provides feedback to senior Food & Beverage departmental management
  43. Resolves guest comp issues
  44. Contacts (by phone and in person) Casino Hosts, Player Club and Tables Games Pit in order to resolve guest issue
  45. Knows guests by name, personal preferences.
  46. Use departmental cleaning and sanitizing chemicals per OSHA, departmental and manufacturer operating standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guest, outside contacts, and all levels of employees.
  • Ability to drive all company vehicles.
  • Ability to use a telephone.
  • Ability to move effectively and efficiently around work area.
  • This position is at times subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of hotel personal services operations.
  • Prior experience in butler operations.
  • State driver’s license required.
