Overview

The Assistant Baker is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The Assistant Baker is also responsible for coordinating and maintaining an effective bakery shop through direct contact with the staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  • Prepares and produces bakery items as assigned.
  • Prepares special orders as directed by the Baker.
  • Assists and learns from the Baker.
  • Assists in training.
  • Ensures bakery shop is kept in a clean and orderly manner.

Qualifications

Ability to coordinate the various baking procedures, so as to be able to produce needed supplies in a timely manner.

 

These skills are typically acquired through a minimum of three years’ practical bakery experience, or through any combination of related schooling and practical experience totaling three years.
