Overview

The Assistant Manager for our Starbucks outlet assists the Starbucks Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of the F&B department and team, providing exceptional internal and external guest service. Primary focus is running the Starbucks and Club 38 outlets on property and their Team Members.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Guest Service standards for the position
  • Strategically train and develop for succession hourly Team Members
  • Supervise all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, hiring, coaching, mediating, recognizing, and evaluating hourly Team Members
  • Resolve beverage quality and service opportunities; communicate with appropriate Team Members and leaders on Guest feedback
  • Implements, adheres, and monitors all department and property policies and procedures including but not limited to standards of conduct, attendance, appearance, cash handling, confidentiality, safety, signature sequence of service, and sanitation  
  • Maintain the morale of the department through open communication and teamwork by deploying targeted communication strategies that inform and build support 
  • Interact with Guests and Team Members by maintaining a visible presence in Guest areas during peak business periods
  • Comply with all training initiatives including, but not limited to, attendance of all required participants, ongoing assessment of individual or department performance, and follow-up
  • Manage all financial operating expenses including, but not limited to, budget, P&L, labor costs, controllables and cost of goods
  • Analyze and recognize any deficiencies or problem areas and provide corrective action to accomplish desired results
  • Adjust or balance the size of staff in order to control labor costs without sacrificing Guest service
  • Work with all departments to successfully execute Ameristar strategies to maximize efficiencies and improve the Guest and Team Member experience
  • Perform all administrative duties as required to successfully manage the department
  • Ensure accountability for all compliance issues, regulations, laws, and health requirements as related to food and beverage operations

Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Fully Competent in Microsoft Office.     
  • Ability to develop and sustain productive Guest relationships.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop hourly Team Members.
  • High organizational skills and ability to complete several ongoing activities, projects, or assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high degree of honesty and candor.
  • Ability to adhere to, interpret, and explain company policies and procedures to others, including but not limited to attendance, appearance, safety, and security policies.
  • Ability to accept direction and coaching from supervisors, and adjust behaviors accordingly.
  • Ability to obtain support for ideas and actions from direct reports, peers, or supervisors in order to accomplish a task or goal.
  • High school diploma or certificate from educational institute preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in beverage.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License.
  • Able to maintain a valid state-issued Driver’s License and pass an MVR check.
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
